iTENS is a modern-day TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machine. It consists of a white round part called the ‘Interchangeable Gen 2 iTENS‘ device that serves as a rechargeable battery and a Bluetooth receiver. Its ‘wings’ have a laser printed silver conductive surface where the iTENS gel pads are used. These reusable and replaceable gel pads are suitable for 15 – 20 applications.
iTENS has three types of wing type gel pads
- The ‘small wings’ will grip and move quickly on your ankle, knee, elbow, wrist, and other small treatment areas.
- The ‘large wings’ will give you maximum coverage for your pain sites; for larger areas of pain relief such as the back, thigh and other larger treatment sites.
- The ‘long-wing strip’ is for extended length coverage and for pain that radiates downwards, designed for the sciatic nerve, iliotibial band, tendons, and similar others.
The ‘wings’ is where you put the gel pads, and the gel pads need to be changed if you have reached the 15 – 20 application mark. In changing the iTENS gel pads, remove the white round part, peel ‘n’ stick the iTENS gel pads to the ‘wings’, and then attach it again to the white round part. After using the iTENS, store the ‘wings’ and the gel pads in a resealable bag provided in the kit.
